Seeding for winter harvest

Does it count as original thought if I'm just sharing a post from Johnny's? I don't know, but this Winter Growing Guide from Johnny Seed Company showed up in my email and I was very inspired after I read it. I made a plan to try several of the varieties listed, and planted some kale as
suggested in the guide.
I suppose the only helpful thing I can contribute here is that our Persephone Period, or time when days are 10 hours or less is November 12th-January 31st. We are about 12 weeks out from this date now, so it's actually a little late to plant kale, but plenty of other things can still be planted if you want to try this method.
